ecofren created a program to address waste issues in traditional markets and put this program into action to determine if it’s feasible, sustainable, and helps with waste management in these markets.

Through organic waste processing which involves Black Soldier Fly (BSF) Farm, Maggot and Kasgot Fertilizer were produced with the collaboration of three local partners.

Training to the community and local partners on waste collection, segregation, BSF farming, composting, and drying Maggot for packaging were provided as part of the program.

ecofren offered dry maggots instead of fresh ones to extend product shelf life and organized meetings with multiple local stakeholders to provide business coaching.

Thanks to ecofren’s efforts, the traditional market “Pasar Ciluar” was awarded to have the best waste management in 2023.
